Storm arrived at the shelter on 4-25-13 and is up for adoption. If you look at the third picture you can see where Storm spent 6 days with no food or water and ticks crawling all over her. What we think happened is when the bad storms came through she got washed down the drainage ditch and was able to climb up on the ledge out of the water and there she was; unable to move and to scared to jump. A gentleman and his kids was riding their bikes in the drainage ditch and spotted her and called the shelter. Storm is doing good, she came in and drunk a gallon of water and ate 3 bowls of food. She is still a little scared and isn't good on the leash but we have treated her for ticks, she has had a bath, been wormed and given a 5-way shot. Storm is a very sweet gal who will lay at your feet all day, who will sit at the door waiting for you to came back in the room and who is so happy to see you even if you only been gone 10 mins. Storm will be spayed and given a rabies vaccination before going to her new home. All Storm needs is a loving home with encouragement and reassurance. We have a wonderful foster program available (if you live inside city limits) to see if the animal compliments or complicates your life. This is an excellent way to see how the pet would get along with family member and other pets! The paperwork take just a few minutes and you can walk out the door worry free with a fuzz friend.
